About Our School
Rocky Mountain Chinese School (RMCS) is a small non-profit educational institution whose mission is teaching and sharing the Mandarin language and cultural traditions of the Chinese-speaking world. Since 1985, we have educated more than a thousand children and adults in the Denver/Boulder area.
- For children who are new to Mandarin, there is an "A" track for Chinese as Second Language (CSL).
- For children who speak Mandarin at home but cannot read or write it, there is a "B" track for Chinese as First Language (CFL).
- Our adult classes teach conversational skills for business and travel.
- Our enrichment classes include Chinese dance, calligraphy, brush painting, and guzheng (a traditional Chinese musical instrument).
- In the summer, we offer a week-long summer camp for children ages 4-16.
RMCS is now hosted by Eastern Sun Academy at 6717 South Boulder Road in Boulder. Classes are held on Sunday afternoons between 1:00 – 4:00 pm. Classes are in session September – December (fall) and January – May (spring). For each session, language classes run for 12 weeks and enrichment classes for 10 weeks.
